Question

If a man can lift an object of mass 15 kg on earth. What will be the maximum mass he can lift with same force on surface of moon.

Open in App
Solution

Hello ,
Force exerted by the man = weight of the object = m x acceration due to gravity on earth
= 15 x 10 = 150N
Acceleration due gravity on moon = 1.625 m/s2
With the force of 150N mass which can be lifted,
F = mg
150 = m x 1.625
m = 92.3Kg
