Question

If a man consume 30 ×10^23 atoms of carbon in glucose, then how much grams of glucose does he drinks?

Open in App
Solution

Molar mass of glucose = 180 g/mol
No of moles in 1 g =1180=0.005 mol
One mole or 180 g of glucose contains 6 moles or 72 g of C
No of atoms in 6 mol of C = 6×6.022×1023
No of moles in 6×6.022×1023 atoms = 6 mol
No of moles in 30×1023 atoms = 4.98 moles
Since 6 moles are present in 180 g then amount of glucose in 4.98 moles = 149.4 g.
Therefore 149.4 g of glucose is consumed.
