Question

If a number is divisible by 9, then it is also divisible by ___

Open in App
Solution

Let the number A be divisible by 9.
So, the remainder when A is divided by 9 is 0.
Dividend=(divisor×quotient)+remainder
So, A=9×B+0=9×B
A=9×B=3×3×B=3×3B=3×C(C=3×B)
So, A is also divisible by 3 because 3 is factor of 9.
But if A is divisible by 3 it need not be divisible by 9.
