where, H Head and T Tail.

Given:
Total number of tosses = 40
Number of times one head or one tail occured = 24

Number of times in which both the coins have the same outcome(i.e., both the coins turn out to be HH or TT)
= 40 - 24
= 16

So, the probability of getting the same result for both the coins
