Angle of elevation is the angle a person’s line of sight makes with an imaginary horizontal line at his eye level. If the person’s line of sight is above the horizontal level then it is called as angle of elevation.

Or in simpler terms, if the person is looking up then we call the angle between line of sight and horizontal level as angle of elevation.
