Question

If a pure resistance load, when connected to a lossless 75 ohm line, produces a VSWR of 3 on the line, then load impedance can only be 25 ohms

Open in App
Solution

Ans : (b)

For a pure resistive load of a lossless line,

VSWR=RLR0ifRL>R0

VSWR=R0RLifR0>RL

Given that, VSWR = 3

So, RL=VSWR×R0=3×75=225Ω

or RL=R0VSWR=753=25Ω

Hence, RL=25or75
