In the above figure, ‘I’ is the slant height, ‘h’ is the height and ‘r’ is the radius of the cone.

The sides corresponding to ‘h’ and ‘r’ are perpendicular to each other.

So, the three sides corresponding to ‘h’, ‘r’ and ‘I’ form a right-angled triangle.

When we rotate the triangle about one of its perpendicular sides, which, in this case, is ‘h’, the shape obtained is a cone as illustrated in the figure.
