Since there is only one unknown x, we use one information that the magnitude of vector ^i+4x^j is double of vector ^i+x^j.

2×12+x2=12+4(x)2
Taking square on both sides we get,
4(1+x2)=(1+16x2)
(4+4x2)=(1+16x2)
