The correct option is A 288cm2
Given: AB= BC, AC = 12 cm
Therefore, AC = 2AB
Hence, AB = 6cm
area of triangle=12×base×height
72=12×BC×height
72=12×6×height
height=24 cm
area of parallelogram=base×height =AC×height
Area of parallelogram=AC×height=12×24=288
