Solution

Solution:
Given that:
BP=4PA,OP=5cm and OA=OB=7cm
To find:
6×AB=?
Solution:
Let PA=x,BP=4x
AB=PA+BP=x+4x=5x
BM=AM=AB2=5x2
and MP=5x2x=3x2
In OMB
OB2=OM2+BM2 (By pythagorus theorem)
or, OM2=72(5x2)2=4925x24
In OMP
OP2=MP2+OM2 (By pythagorus theorem)
or, 52=(3x2)2+4925x24
or, 25=9x24+4925x24
or, 4x2=24
or, x2=6
or, x=6
AB=5x=56
or, 6×AB=6×56=30cm
