Question

If AC current changes its direction, then how it can be transported to our homes covering a large distance

Open in App
Solution

The travel of electric current from point A to point B of the would depend on polarity. Therefore, if you have an AC circuit, then the change of the polarities every half-cycle means that the current flows from point A to point B for one half-cycle, and point B to point A for another half-cycle. The current flow is bidirectional in this sense, but only one direction is allowed at a time.
