There are hydrolytic enzymes in the acrosome of the sperm. The enzyme hyaluronidase is secreted by the acrosome of the sperm after it has reached oocyte. It is a hydrolytic enzyme that digests hyaluronic acid in the corona radiata of the ovum. This helps in the penetration of the sperm into the ovum for fertilization. If the acrosome is damaged, there will be no acrosomal reaction. This will prevent the entry of sperm in the ovum and there will be no fertilization.
