Solution

Conductors of electricity: Any substance which will let electricity to pass through it is called a conductor.

  1. Lightening occurs due to the charge separation.
  2. But if air and cloud were good conductors of electricity, charge accumulation would not take place.
  3. All the charges collected would continuously transfer through the air, leading to no lightning phenomenon.
