If α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial x25x+m such that αβ=1, then find the value of m.

We know that for a general quadratic equation ax2+bx+c:
Sum of zeros =ba and Product of zeros =ca

α+β=ba=(5)1=+5

α+β=5...(i)

αβ=1...(ii)

Add equation (i) & (ii) we get,

2α=6

It gives α=3

Putting the above value in (1) we get,

β=2

multiplication of two roots is ca.

α.β=ca

3×2=m1

m=6
