Question

If α,β are the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial f(x)=x22x+3, find a polynomial whose zeroes are α+2,β+2

Open in App
Solution

f(x)=x22x+3 have zeroes α,β

α+β=2

αβ=3

Now polynomial having α+2,β+2 as roots is

p(x)=x2(α+2+β+2)x+(α+2)(β+2)

=x2(α+β+4)x+αβ+2(α+β)+4

=x2(2+4)x+3+2(2)+4

x26x+11
