Solution

Given ,

Selling price of the item,SP =Rs602

loss per cent , loss% = 14%

Cost price of the item, CP=...............

Note :

We have the formula to find CP , When SP and loss% is given ,

i.e. CP= 100100-loss%×SP .

So,

CP =100100-14×602

CP= 10086×602

CP=6020086 ( divide 60200 by 86, we get 700)

CP=700.

Therefore, the answer for the given blank is Rs700.
