Solution
The correct option is C
parthenocarpic fruit
If an ovary develops into fruit without fertilization, it is called parthenocarpic fruit. Parthenocarpy (literally meaning virgin fruit) is the natural or artificially induced production of fruit without fertilization of ovules. The fruit is therefore seedless. All other fruits are formed as a result of fertilization. In fleshy fruits, the pericarp is distinguished into epicarp, mesocarp, and endocarp. Such fruits which are formed from several carpels derived from the same flower are called aggregate fruits. A fruit developing from a complete inflorescence is called a multiple or a composite fruit.
