If anything, achieves a velocity faster than that of light ...then can it pass through opaque objects? Which light can not do because of its constant speed.

You are correct in your assertion that light can pass through opaque objects if its attains a velocity faster than that of its constant speed because in that case laws of physics do not hold valid and it can disobey the normal assumption which states that light cannot pass through opaque objects
