The correct option is C 40 cm2
Area of pentagon = Area of ABC + Area of trapezium BCDE

Area of ABC = 12×base×height
= 12×BC×AF = 12×8×3
= 4×3 = 12 cm2

Area of trapezium BCDE
= 12×(Sum of parallel sides)×height
= 12×(BC+ED)×(FG)
​​​​​​​ = 12×(8+6)×(AG-AF)
= 12×(8+6)×(7-3)
= 12×14×4
= 7×4 = 28 cm2

Area of pentagon = 12+28 = 40 cm2
