Causes of baldness are not fully understood. However, male pattern baldness can be a result of genetic make up. Most common observation is that if father is bald the male child inherits the trait. It is not definitely known whether baldness is inherited through paternal genes or maternal genes.However, it has been found that pattern baldness is a sex-linked trait.
