Solution

The correct option is A

20 km

Distance covered in 1 litre=x km

distance covered in x litres of petrol = x × Distance covered in 1 litre

= x ×x

= x2

Given, car travels 16 km in x litres of petrol

x2=16
x=4

So, distance covered by car in 1 litre = 4 km
So, in 5 litres it will cover 5 x 4 = 20 km.
