Solution

The major function of carbohydrates is to provide energy to the body. It is known as the fuel of our body. The other nutrients such as fats and proteins have other functions. Proteins play a major role in building muscles and bones. Proteins and fats provide energy only when there is no energy available from carbohydrates. At other times, these nutrients have different functions to perform other than providing energy to the body.
