Question

If centrioles are absent in plant cells, then from where do the spindle fibres arise during cell division in plants??

Solution

Dear student,

Plants cells lack centrioles but these structures are present in centrosome, which is the main site of spindle formation. Thus spindle fibres forms from centrosome as in these cells only segregation of chromosomes takes place.
