If cosθ=1213, show that sinθ(1tanθ)=35156

Open in App
Solution

Given,

cosθ=1213

We know that,

cosθ=adjacent SideHypotenuse

Consider the figure above,

From Pythagoras theorem,

AC2=AB2+BC2

132=AB2+122

AB2=169144=25

AB=5

sinθ=Opposite SideHypotenuse=513

tanθ=Opposite SideAdjacent Side=512

sinθ(1tanθ)=513(1512)

=513(12512)

=513(712)

=35156
