cosx+cosy=cosα

2cos(x+y2)cos(xy2)=cosα ...(1)

sinx+siny+sinα=0

sinx+siny=sinα
2sin(x+y2)cos(xy2)=sinα ...(2)

Dividing equation (1) by (2), we get

2cos(x+y2)cos(xy2)2sin(x+y2)cos(xy2)=cosαsinα

cot(x+y2)=cotα
