Solution

The correct option is D cotα
If cosx+cosy+cosα=0(i)

sinx+siny+sinα=0(ii)

then cot(x+y2)=?

Now,
cosx+cosy=cosα

2cos(x+y2).cos(xy2)=cosα(iii)

sinx+siny=sinα

2sin(x+y2).cos(xy2)=sinα(iv)

By (iii)÷(iv)

2×cos(x+y2).cos(xy2)2×sin(x+y2).cos(xy2)=cosαsinα

cot(x+y2)=cotα

The correct option is C cotα.
