Given equation: cot1(cosα)tan1(cosα)=x

letcot1(cosα)=P

cotP=cosα

sinP=11+cosα

Also tan1(cosα)=Q

tanQ=cosα

sinQ=cosα1+cosα

Now the given equation can be written as
x=PQ

sinx=sin(PQ)

sinx=sinPcosQcosPsinQ

sinx=(11+cosα)(11+cosα)(cosα1+cosα)(cosα1+cosα)

sinx=1cosα1+cosα=2sin2α22cos2α2sinx=tan2α2
