Question

If ΔABCΔDFE,A=30,C=50, AB=5cm,AC=8cm, and DF=7.5cm ,then which of the following is true?

(A) DE=12cm,F=50
(B) DE=12cm,F=100
(C) EF=12cm,D=100
(D) EF=12cm,D=30

Solution

(B) DE=12cm,F=100

Given, ΔABCΔDFE, then A=D=30,C=E=50

In ΔABC,
A+B+C=180 [Angle sum property]
B=180AC
B=1803050=100
B=F=100

Also, AB=5cm,AC=8cm, and DF=7.5cm
ABDF=ACDE
57.5=8DE
DE=8×7.55=12cm

Hence, DE=12cm,F=100
