Solution

The correct option is C 724
x+1x=4
squaring both sides
(x+1x)2=42
x2+1x2+2x.1x=16
x2+1x2=162=14....(1)
again cubing both sides
(x+1x)3=43
x3+1x3+3x.1x(x+1x)=64
x3+1x3+3×4=64
x3+1x3=6412=52......(2)
Now multiplying (1) and (2) we get
(x2+1x2)(x3+1x3)=14×52
x5+x2x3+x3x2+1x5=14×52
x5+1x5+(1x+x)=728
x5+1x5=7284x5+1x5=724
