Let the side of cube be x cm then
The volume of the cube =x3cm3

Increased length of the edge =2x cm as side length doubled.
Volume of the new cube formed =(2x)3cm3
=8x3cm3
=8×volume of the original cube.
Therefore, If the edge of the cube is doubled then the volume of the cube is increased by 8 times.

Hence, the correct option is (d)
