(b) 2 times
(c) 3 times
(d) 4 times

Solution

Let b be the side and h be the height of a rhombus.
Area of rhombus =b×h [ area of rhombus = base × corresponding height]
If each side of the rhombus is doubled, then side of rhombus = 2b
And if sides are doubled, then height also get doubled i.e. new height = 2h
Now, area of rhombus =2b×2h=4(b×h)=4 times of original
Hence, the area of rhombus will become 4 times of original.
The net increase in area = 3 times of original
