If each small square covers an area of 1 sq. unit, what is the enclosed by the brown triangle?

Open in App
Solution

Number of small squares in the big rectangle = 20
Area of each small square = 1 sq. unit
Total area covered by the rectangle = 20 x 1
= 20 sq. units
We can see that the brown triangle covers exactly half of the rectangle.
So, the area covered by the brown triangle = Half of 20 sq. cm
= 10 sq. cm
