Open in App
Solution

Epiglottis:

  1. Epiglottis is the flap that covers the trachea during swallowing so that food does not enter the lungs.
  2. If the epiglottis is absent in the body then the regulation of food material to esophagus and air into the lungs will get disturbed.
  3. Sometimes food will enter into the windpipe and then causes choking.
  4. Eventually, the lungs cannot not work properly which can lead to death.
