Characteristics of Equilibrium Constant
If equal conc...
Question
If equal concentrations are mixed (of products &reactants) then will the reaction proceed to the right or left?
Open in App
Solution
There will be three cases in this question.
first will be that if the reaction has equilibrium constant =1,second greater and third less than1.
if Kc=1,then equilibrium will be attained.
If Kc>1,ans we add equal concentration , then equilibrium will shift in forward direction .
If Kc<1,and we add equal concentrations ,then equilibrium will shift in the backward direction.

Assertion: Increasing the concentration of reactants will cause a reaction to proceed faster.
Reason: More reactants lowers the activation energy of a reaction.
