Solution

The correct option is D 13
Given A and B are independent events, P(A)=0.4,P(AB)=0.6. We have to find P(B).
Since A and B are independent events, P(AB)=P(A)P(B).
We know that, P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)P(AB)
P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)P(A)P(B)
Substitute the values we get
0.6=0.4+P(B)0.4×P(B)
0.60.4=(10.4)P(B)
0.6P(B)=0.2
P(B)=0.20.6=26=13
That is P(B)=13
