A.Law of independent assortment - When a cross is made between two individuals different from each other in two or more characters, then the inheritance of one character is independent of the inheritance of another character. It is called Law of independent assortment. Due to this reason, in the dihybrid cross, recombinants are formed.

B.Law of segregation - During gamete formation, the alleles for each gene segregate from each other so that each gamete carries only one allele for each gene. It is called Law of Segregation. Because of this reason, in the monohybrid cross, in the F2 generation, 3 tall and 1 dwarf plants are formed.

C.Law of Dominance - Expression of a character or trait, in a pair of contrasting characters, in a heterozygous organisms is called Law of dominance. Due to this reason, in F1 plant only one character is expressed.
