Solution

The correct option is C 3
If T is the period of f(x), then f(x+T)=f(x).
Given : f(x+12)+f(x12)=f(x) --(1)
Replacing x+12 by x,
f(x+1)+f(x)=f(x+12)
From (1), f(x+12)=f(x)f(x12)

Substituting, f(x+1)+f(x)=f(x)f(x12)
f(x+1)=f(x12) --(2)
Hence 1 is not the period of f(x).

Replacing x by x+1 in equation (2)
f(x+2)=f(x+12) Hence 2 is not a period of f(x).

Replacing x by x+12 in equation (2)
f(x+32)=f(x) ---(3)

Replace x by x+32 in equation (3)
f(x+3)=f(x+32)=(f(x))=f(x) (from (3))

Hence 3 is the period of f(x).
