Solution

The correct option is A 12
f(x)=2x3+9x2+λx+20
Since f(x) is decreasing i.e. f'(x) < 0
6x2+18x+λ<0
6(x2+3x+λ6)<0
The value of λ is such that the equation x2+3x+λ6<0 has roots - 2 and - 1
Product of roots =λ6=(2)(1)
λ=12
