Solution

The correct option is C a=16b
Solution:- (C) a=16b
Given:-
For H2 gas,
CpCv=a
For H2 gas,
CpCv=b
Solution:-
As we know that
Cp,mCv,m=R
whereas, Cp,m and Cv,m are the heat capacity in cal/molK.
As
Cp,m=MCp; and
Cv,m=MCv
Where as Cp and Cv heat capacity in cal/gK
MCpMCv=R
(CpCv)=RM
For H2 gas,
CpCv=R2
a=R2
R=21.....(1)
For O2 gas,
CpCv=R32
b=R32
R=32b.....(2)
Now, from eqn(1)&(2), we have
2a=32b
a=16b
Hence (C) is the correct answer.
