If fx=x-1x+1, then show that

(i) f1x=-fx (ii) f-1x=-1fx

Given: fx=x-1x+1 .....(1)

(i) Replacing x by 1x in (1), we get
f1x=1x-11x+1 =1-x1+x =-x-1x+1 =-fx

(ii) Replacing x by -1x in (1), we get
f-1x=-1x-1-1x+1 =-1-x-1+x =-x+1x-1 =-1x-1x+1 =-1fx
