if glycogen is converted into glucose through glycogenolysis , then why does glucose again forms back into glycogen through glycogenesis?

Glucose takes part in the cellular respiration to produce energy; thus, the glycogen is converted to glucose. However, the conversion of the glucose to glycogen occurs in order to store the excess glucose that can be later used in cellular respiration when required.
