Solution

The correct option is C

1a+1b

Explanation for the correct option:

Find the value of 1H-a+1H-b:

Since, H is the harmonic mean of a and b. Then,

H=2aba-b...1

Subtract a from both sides in the equation 1.

H-a=2aba+b-aH-a=2ab-a2-aba+b1H-a=a+bab-a2...2

Similarly, subtract b from both sides in the equation 1.

H-b=2ab-b2-aba+b1H-b=a+bab-b2...3

By adding equation 2 and 3, we get

1H-a+1H-b=a+bab-a+a+bba-b=a+ba-b-1a+1b=a+ba-b-b+aab=a+b1ab=aab+bab=1a+1b

Hence, the correct option is C.
