Solution

Calculate the LCM

We know that the relation between the HCF and the LCM of any two numbers a and b is given by,

HCF(a,b)×LCM(a,b)=a×b

It is given that, HCF(18,72)=18

So, the numbers are a=18 and b=72

Now, using the above formula,

HCF(18,72)×LCM(18,72)=18×72

18×LCM(18,72)=18×72 HCF(18,72)=18

LCM(18,72)=18×7218

LCM(18,72)=1×721

LCM(18,72)=72

Hence, the required value of LCM(18,72) is 72.
