Solution

The correct option is A no activation of pepsinogen
The peptic cells of the stomach produce an inactive enzyme that is pepsinogen. It is activated by HCl present in the stomach. Due to the action of HCl, pepsinogen is converted into pepsin. Pepsin plays an important role in the breakdown of protein molecules into peptides. The peptides are further broken down into amino acids by the action of trypsin. It is secreted by pancreas as an inactive form called trypsinogen. It is activated by another enzyme called enterokinase released by the cells of the duodenum region. So, if HCl is not secreted by the stomach then pepsinogen will not be activated, as no acidic medium will be there. Hence, the protein will not be digested.
