Question

If HX is a weak acid, what particles will be found in a liquid compound which is a non-electrolyte?

Open in App
Solution

  1. All the polar or ionic compounds undergo dissociation to produce their respective ions.
  2. Given HX is a weak acid most of the acidic compounds undergo dissociation to produce respective ions.
  3. HX contains H+andX-ions when they undergo dissociation.
  4. So these ions will be present in the dilute solution of weak acid.
  5. So the ions present on HX are H+andX-. Along with the ions, undissociated HX will also be present in the solution.
