If I make any changes in the diagonal of a square. Will it affect its area? If yes, then how?

A diagonal is a line which is connected from a corner to the opposite corner. If u suggest a change in diagonal by changing its length then the side of the square must be changed to a length according to the diagonal which has to be connected to both corners. So the area changes.
