If I want to become a scientist what subject I should choose after 10 th.......

I would suggest you to take basic sciences (Physics,Chemistry, Maths or Biology) in 12th grade as per your liking. Study your subjects carefully and lay emphasis on understanding the basic concepts rather than memorising formulae and implementing them in problems!

• What to study?

1. Take up major in the science stream for your class XI and XII -
2. Since many areas of scientific research are based on the human body - e.g. Bio Physics, Bio Infomatics, Bio Electronics you can take biology. Also if the choice is between Bio and Computer Science - bear in mind it's easier to learn programming also

3. After XIITH you will need to get a Bachelors/Masters and a PhD (potentially even a post doctorate) to become a reputed scientist.(Most research scientists also have a postgraduate qualification like an MSc, an MSci or MBiol).

Now how to go about becoming a "Scientist". There is no fixed path of course. Being aware of your interests and taking up the right courses accordingly in bachelors and masters is all that is required I guess. Then comes the big step of Doctor of Philosophy. Pursuing PhD is not an easy thing. But if you are committed, dedicated and passionate for your area of interest, it is the best thing to do.
