1. A double displacement reaction in which a salt and water is formed is as shown below:

HCl (aq) + NaOH (aq) NaCl (aq) + H2O (l)

2. Here we see that Na and Cl combine to give NaCl (first displacement) and H and OH combine to give H2O (second displacement).
