Solution

Homologous series of compound lies in the same family and the molecular formula is different by one (CH2) unit.

Alkenes contains double bond between the Carbon atoms so, it is an unsaturated hydrocarbon.

The general formula of alkenes is (CnH2n).

The first member of the homologous series of alkenes is Ethene having the formula (C2H4).

The formulae of the next three members of the homologous series of alkenes are Propene (C3H6), Butene (C4H8), and Pentene(C5H10).

All the three homologue of alkenes Propene (C3H6), Butene (C4H8), and Pentene (C5H10) are differed by (CH2) and mass number14.
