The correct option is A $24$
$(x + 1), 3 x$ and $(4 a + 2)$ are first three terms
of an A.P
$\Rightarrow (x + 1) + (4 x + 2) = 2.3 x$
$\Rightarrow 5 x + 3 = 6 x \Rightarrow x = 3$
$∴$ First three terms are 4,9,14
$∴$ common difference = 5
Fifth term is $= 4 + 4 d = 4 + 4.5$
$= 4 + 20$
$= 24$
$∴ 5^{t h} t e r m = 24$
